ARMADA is the independent superyacht marque of Vanguard Dutch Marine, created for owners who have no reason to accept convention simply because it already exists. From high-performance yachts and semi-custom platforms to fully individual superyachts, explorer yachts and support vessels, every ARMADA begins with the ambitions of its owner.

We are not tied to a single shipyard or production line. Each project is developed around its design, technical requirements and intended use, after which the right Dutch shipyard and specialist partners are selected. The yacht determines the yard—not the other way around.

This independence gives ARMADA the freedom to make decisions faster, bring together the best expertise for each commission and maintain one clear creative direction throughout the project. A single yacht can stand alone, or become part of a complete private fleet in which the principal yacht, chase boat, tender and support vessels share the same design language.

ARMADA is not built around a shipyard. It is built around the owner.

We believe the owner should never have to adapt to a yacht shaped by somebody else’s assumptions. The yacht should respond to the owner: to the way they travel, entertain, escape and experience the sea. That principle informs every decision, from the first lines on paper to the selection of materials, technology, layout and shipyard.

For pre-engineered and semi-custom yachts, a carefully developed platform provides technical confidence without restricting individuality. For fully custom commissions, the process begins with a blank sheet. In both cases, the objective is the same: to create a yacht with a distinct identity and a clear reason for every choice.

True luxury is not about recognition or following an established answer. It is about control—the freedom to create something personal without unnecessary layers, inherited limitations or compromise disguised as tradition.

ARMADA is designed for owners who choose their own course.

An ARMADA should be recognisable before its name can be read. Powerful proportions, clean uninterrupted lines and a controlled sense of movement give each yacht a presence that feels confident rather than complicated. The design is never decoration added after the engineering; exterior architecture, naval performance, interior experience and technical development are considered as one connected project.

For every commission, Vanguard Dutch Marine assembles the designers, naval architects, engineers, shipyard and specialist partners best suited to the yacht. This allows established technical platforms to be developed with genuine individuality, while larger custom projects can be created without predetermined answers.

The exterior and interior of the ARMADA 115, for example, are designed by Phathom Studio, an independent Netherlands-based yacht design studio. Its low, powerful exterior and calm, contemporary interior form one coherent design, shaped around openness, movement and a close connection with the sea.

Every ARMADA will be built entirely in the Netherlands, combining distinctive design with Dutch naval engineering, specialist craftsmanship and uncompromising execution.

Vanguard Dutch Marine is the Dutch yacht design and development company behind ARMADA. Established in 2007 by the founders and original designers behind the original VanDutch yachts, the company brings almost two decades of experience in creating yachts with a clear and immediately recognisable identity.

That history is important, but it is not the destination. The experience gained through design, development, engineering and yacht construction now provides the foundation for an entirely new generation of yachts under the independent ARMADA marque.

Vanguard Dutch Marine acts as the central creative, technical and contractual counterpart throughout each project. From concept design, naval architecture and engineering to shipyard selection, construction supervision, delivery and long-term ownership, every discipline is brought together under one direction.

This gives the owner direct access, clear responsibility and a coherent process without unnecessary corporate layers. Renowned Dutch shipyards and specialists are selected according to the requirements of each individual yacht.

The name is new. The experience is not.
